about

Two tunes (instrumental) for one track here and two battles behind each tune.
First, the battle of Magersfontein (1899) in South Africa between The Boers and the British Army : the piper who wrote this tune (Lochanside) took a big place in this battle, by rallying the troops with the sound of his bagpipe.
The second one is the Battle of the Somme (also the name of the tune) : again, the piper who has penned it was part of this bloody battle and lost his life during this war.
